Pesticide Action Network North America (PAN North America) works to replace the use of hazardous pesticides with ecologically sound and socially just alternatives. As one of five PAN Regional Centers worldwide, we link local and international consumer, labor, health, environment and agriculture groups into an international citizens’ action network. This network challenges the global proliferation of pesticides, defends basic rights to health and environmental quality, and works to ensure the transition to a just and viable society.

Protect the Adirondacks!, Inc. (PROTECT) is a new, non-profit, grassroots membership organization dedicated to the protection and stewardship of the public and private lands of the Adirondack Park, and to building the health and diversity of its human communities and economies for the benefit of current and future generations.

As the only volunteer driven environmental organization in the park, PROTECT is able to respond quickly and decisively to environmental threats that are relatively localized, such as our recent success in helping a community block excessive tree cutting on a scenic highway.
